When it comes to things I enjoy doing, photographing couples is at the top of my list (along with spa days, vacations, yoga, planting things, and delicious desserts!). I have a TON of fun during my photography sessions. I truly feel tuned in to who I am when I have my camera in hand. My photography sessions are about more than pretty pictures, they are about having a fun, memorable, and, perhaps, magic time! It is so rewarding to get feedback about my photography. Thank you Brandy for the sweet note ... I can't wait for your big day! =)

Allison + Rob: Engaged!

"I'm going to need a photographer, I'm engaged!" she wrote. Allison and I have been friends for quite a while, but I never had the opportunity to photographer her. Even though I had known their engagement would happen soon, that December afternoon when she texted me was pretty exciting (although nowhere as exciting as it was for her)! It is so wonderful to see a good friend make plans to spend the rest of her life with the one she loves! =)

One of the things I love about photographing couples in love is the peek inside their relationship. Every couple has their own love language, and I feel privileged to witness it. For Allison & Rob, it was in the way she closed her eyes when he kissed her forehead. So sweet! We had a great morning starting in old San Juan Capistrano (for a vintage feel), and ending at the beach in San Clemente. It was a slightly overcast day & perfect for photography!

Allison & Rob - I had a lot of fun with you on Monday, and can't wait to be a part of your big day!
The folks at "Mi Tesoro" were kind enough to let us shoot in their courtyard. If you're ever in San Juan Capistrano, check out their fountains & treasures!

Brandy + Devin: Engaged!

"Are you a world famous poet yet?" Brandy asked when we ran into each other at our University of Redlands Homecoming. "No," I told her with a grin, "but I'm working on becoming a world famous photographer!" Bam. That's how it started. I had gone back and forth, and hadn't decided to go to Homecoming until about 10:30 that morning. Brandy and Devin went to Homecoming with the intention of finding a wedding photographer. That, my friends, is how the Universe works! =)

From the start, Brandy & Devin wanted to do their engagement session at Downtown Disney. Devin proposed to Brandy just outside of Downtown Disney, so it was a very sentimental place for them. Downtown Disney was perfect because it had so many different "nooks" and backgrounds for Brandy & Devin's photographs ... and the security guards never said a word! ;-)

Brandy & Devin - I had a blast photographing you, and I can't wait until your wedding next month. Bring on the Mardi Gras masks! ;-)

Wedding Photography!

It's been a while since I've posted a blog. I have a good excuse, though ... I've been doing a lot of work on the newest branch of my business: Wedding Photography! Over the last few weeks, I have had a number of wonderful bride meetings! So far, 2009 holds 4 definite weddings & many other potential weddings. During your wedding day, you spend a lot of time with your wedding photographer, and you'll want it be someone fun, relaxed, and happy. I am so thrilled to be able to offer couples beautiful photojournalistic wedding photography, paired with the fun of working with me!
